Azeri canoeist names main opponents in 2012 London Olympics

The three-fold champion of Europe and world in canoeing Valentin Demyanenko of Azerbaijan named his main opponents in the fight for Olympic gold.

The 29-year-old sportsman who will have to represent Azerbaijan in the coming Summer Olympics in London noted that canoeists from Russia, Ukraine, Spain and Lithuania will be his main opponents.

According to the news service for the National Rowing Federation of Azerbaijan, the famous sportsman will take part in the Olympics for the first time while the distance of 200 meters (S-1) will be applied in the program of Olympics in London for the first time ever.
