Georgia, Azerbaijan have real chance for Euro 2020

Georgia and Azerbaijan have a real chance to hold Euro 2020 Cup, " Football Federation President Zviad Sichinava said.

He confirmed that Azerbaijan has joined to the request of Georgia to hold European Football Championship in 2020.

"The agreement is reached. Georgia made a bid for UEFA Euro 2020 on May 15 and Azerbaijan joined to our quota" he said.

Sichinava stressed that Georgian government has a will to compete for holding the European Championship and that the football authorities are ready to develop infrastructure.

"This our decision can be assessed only positively, since all contribute to the development of football in the country and participation of Azerbaijan will further strengthens our hope" - he said.

It should be noted that the sponsor of the Football Federation of Georgia is State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
