Azerbaijani freestyle team wins Baku World Cup silver

The final of the team World Cup in freestyle wrestling was held on Sunday at the Serhedchi Olympic sport complex. The tournament brought together sportsmen from Russia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, USA, Japan and Georgia.

Azerbaijani team competed in A group and won all rivals (Russia 7:0), (Bulgaria 7:0), (Kazakhstan 7:0), (Belarus 6:1) to reach final. The decisive match was played with Iran’s team. As a result of the final competition, Azerbaijani team lost to Iran 3:4, securing silver medal of the world cup tournament. The USA team ranks third in the medal table.
