Khazar Lankaran FC to sue FIFA

The management of Azerbaijan’s Khazar Lankaran FC is dissatisfied with the decision of FIFA, FC Vice-President Tuygun Nadirov said.

FIFA today made a decision on removal of 6 points from the score of the Khazar Lankaran FC.  

FIFA punished the Azerbaijani football club Khazar Lankaran, because of problem occurred between the club and Brazilian midfielder Romulo Silvano who was transferred in 2008/09.

After leaving the “white-greens”, Romulo complained to FIFA due to financial problem. FIFA examined Brazilian’s complaint and urged the club to pay its debt to the player.  Despite Khazar Lankaran paid this money, FIFA made a decision remove 6 point from the club’s score.

The club leadership is dissatisfied with and is preparing to apply to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The decision was called absolutely wrong by Nadirov, who added that although the AFFA spread information about this, the club waits for an official document. “Following this, we will appeal to the CAS, as it is authorized to cancel a wrong decision. We believe that this decision can be canceled. "
