FIFA urges removal of Khazar Lankaran’s 6 points

FIFA is expected to punish Azerbaijani football club Khazar Lankaran, because of problem occurred between the club and Brazilian midfielder Romulo Silvano who was transferred in 2008/09.

After leaving the “white-greens”, Romulo complained to FIFA due to financial problem. FIFA examined Brazilian’s complaint and urged the club to pay its debt to the player.

Despite Khazar Lankaran paid this money, FIFA demands to remove 6 point from the club’s score. The club officials confirmed the fact to apasport.az. They said that debt has been already paid to Romulo, but the issue of point removal has not decided yet.

This issue will be clarified in the next days.

Now Khazar Lankaran with 51 points from 27 games is in the 2nd place in the standings. If 6 points are removed, the team will down to the 4th place with 45 points and lose its chance to become a champion
