Azerbaijan Railways introduces temporary train schedule in northern direction

23 February 2011 [18:07] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan Railways has introduced a temporary schedule for trains traveling from Azerbaijan to Russia, the company reported today. The new schedule will come into force from Feb. 23 to March 26 this year, and a new schedule will be applied from March 26.

The new schedule is introduced in connection with the Russian Railways’ decision to terminate the movement of passenger and freight trains on the Samur-Artesian section (the North Caucasian Railways) at night from Feb. 4 in an attempt to ensure safety.

Such measures are taken due to the increasing incidents of explosions in Dagestan in recent years.

Under the new schedule, a passenger train No. 55-56 "Baku-Moscow" will be sent from Baku on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, not at 19:55, but at 22:05 local time. The train will arrive on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 08:20 hours instead of 19:03.

Train No. 31-32 "Baku-Kiev" will depart from Baku on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 00:40 pm and will arrive in the capital at 00:30 on Tuesday.

Train No.313-314 "Baku-Saint-Petersburg" will depart on Thursdays at 00:40 and arrive in Baku at 19:03 on Wednesdays.

Train No. 369-370 "Baku-Kiev" will depart on Fridays at 00:40 and will arrive in the capital on Wednesday at 00:30.

Train No. 373-374 "Baku-Tyumen" will be sent daily, not at 06:20, but at 6:10 and arrive in Baku at 03:05 hours.

Train No. 392-391 "Baku-Rostov" will be sent on Tuesdays and Sundays at 00:40 and arrive in Baku at 19:03 on Mondays and Saturdays.
