Azerbaijan to create genetic bank of plants

The spring session of the Azerbaijani parliament will discuss a bill on the protection and rational use of the genetic reserves of cultivated plants. The bill was discussed on Wednesday at a Parliamentary Agrarian Policy Committee's meeting.

The creation of the genetic bank is worthwhile given the country's climatic conditions and soil quality, the committee noted.

The committee meeting also discussed the bill on agricultural cooperation. Discussions on the bill were held in December.
