Over 200,000 people involved in NGO projects in Azerbaijan

In 2010, more than 200,000 people in Azerbaijan were involved in the implementation of NGOs' projects, Azerbaijani Presidential State NGO Support Fund Azay Guliyev  said on Wednesday.

"Last year, under the projects 1,100 citizens were involved in paid employment," Guliyev said.

He said the Fund's budget for 2010 totaled 2.102 million manat. 845 NGOs appealed to the Fund for funding and 352 projects were financed, of which 54 are related to the issue of human rights, 43 - Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and 19 - Azerbaijan's integration into the world community and others.

Guliyev said  NGOs that had distinguished themselves in their activities will be awarded by the Fund.
