Information about Azerbaijani citizen injured at Russia's Domodedovo airport blast not confirmed - UPDATE

The information about an Azerbaijani citizen injured during terrorist attack at Moscow's Domodedovo airport is not confirmed, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia and diaspora organizations told Trend. Most hospitals in Moscow didnt confirm this information either.

An Azerbaijani citizen turned out to be among the injured in the terrorist attack at Moscow's Domodedovo airport, Russia 24 TV channel reported. The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the person was hospitalized in a Moscow clinic.

Besides Azerbaijani citizen, citizens from France, Italy, Slovakia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were also injured.

The Moscow's Domodedovo International airport, the busiest in Russia`s capital, has been rocked by an explosion that has killed at least 31 people, officials say. About 130 people were wounded in the blast.

Reports suggest the blast hit the baggage reclaim area of the airport`s international arrivals hall. Dozens of ambulances rushed to the scene.

“There are no citizens of Azerbaijan among the victims of an explosion according to preliminary reports”, Mahir Yagubov, representative of the Azerbaijan Hava Yollari (AZAL, Azerbaijani airlines) in Moscow told AzerTAc. Just thirty minutes before the accident, at 14:48, AZAL flight took off from Moscow to Baku.

Currently police cordoned off the building of the airport. The investigation is underway.
