UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan makes report at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy

UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura has delivered a report at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy on topic “Human Capital Development and UNDP activities in Azerbaijan”.

Director of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy`s Foreign Policy Program Aygun Hajiyeva noted in her keynote speech that the Academy holds meetings with professors visiting Azerbaijan and representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions in the country and tries to cover their activities. She added the meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura had been organized in this context.

Mr. Akchura thanked the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy for an opportunity given to him to make report and informed about the UNDP Annual Report. He also spoke of the statistics used in the Report, opening of various indicators and its importance for Azerbaijan.

Mr. Akchura recalled that Azerbaijan moved 16 steps forward in the human capital index and it is the most rapidly developing country in the world. He positively assessed the local government`s investments to human capital and economy, transport infrastructure.
