Fire blazes up in Suraxani oil operating company's industrial area

A fire occured in an area of the Suraxani Oil Operating Company's oil fields in the Surakhani district of Baku last night, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) reported on Friday.

According to information, a fire occurred on the lake of reservoir water produced in the production.

"The inflammation of reservoir water caused the fire and it was liquidated in the shortest possible time," SOCAR noted.

The contract to develop this area was signed in 2005. Under the contract 75% stake is owned by Rafi oil (UAE) and the remaining 25% - SOCAR.
