Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy launches 3rd Annual PhD Workshop

The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy began the Third Annual PhD Workshop. The PhD Workshop is part of ADA's PhD Development and Support Program and will take place on Dec. 19-21, 2010, in Baku, Azerbaijan.  

The Workshop will bring together 23 Azerbaijani PhD scholars and PhD candidates in all disciplines of social science, with special emphasis on political science, economics, environmental studies and international law, the ADA reported. They are trained in 14 leading universities worldwide.

Speaking at the official opening of the workshop, ADA Rector Hafiz Pashayev noted that a return to Azerbaijan of PhD students studying abroad will lend a serious contribution to the development of science and education. From this standpoint, the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy continually brings together representatives of youth enrolled in doctoral studies.

Education Minister Misir Mardanov said that the achievement of international standards by the Azerbaijani science and education is one of the priorities of the country.

The Ministry will provide considerable assistance in achieving this goal at the workshop.

Doctoral students participating in the workshop over time will help not only in teaching, but also the development of science, Executive Director of the Science Development Foundation under the Azerbaijani President Elchin Babayev said. From this perspective, the fund is interested in working with these youths.
