"First Baku Ecological Marathon" to be presented in Baku

Geology Institute Director Akif Aga Alizade will make opening remarks to the presentation ceremony.

Speakers also include Chief of Youth and Sports Office of Baku Rafig Abbasov and representatives of ministries and agencies that supported the holding of the marathon. In particular, representatives of the ministries of environment and natural resources, health, culture and tourism, education, youth and sports, as well as "Azerbaijan Railways”, Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan and “Nur” children's organization will make presentations.

They will make presentations on "Results of the Environment Year -2010", "Attitude to environmental marathon in Baku" and "Development of ecological tourism in Azerbaijan."

MPs, rectors of a number of universities, students, activists of youth organizations, scholars and representatives of various companies have been invited to the ceremony.

"First Baku Environmental Marathon" is expected to be held from December 2010 to May 2011 at the initiative of the Youth and Sports Office of Baku. The marathon envisages implementation of more than 10 projects on environmental topics and other activities.
