Azerbaijan creates lab for quality control and food safety

A new food quality and safety control laboratory has opened under the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry's State Anti-Monopoly Policy and Consumer Protection Service.

The lab offers a fast analysis of a food product's physical, chemical, biological and toxicological indicators. The lab has equipment from Varian, Siemens, Labart, Orka Food, Esco Biotech and Schmartze, which have been accredited by the State Standardization, Metrology and Patents Committee.

The lab is working to receive accreditation based on the ISO:17025 international standard.
