
Tbilisi has hosted a meeting of the Council established in accordance with the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on increasing competitiveness of transport corridor signed between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Attended the meeting were Georgian PM Nika Gilauri, Energy Minister Alexandr Khetaguri, Chief of Georgian Railways Irakli Ezugbaia, Azerbaijani Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Chief of Azerbaijan Railways Arif Asgarov, Chairman of Azeryolservis LLC Javid Gurbanov, Head of SOCAR Investment Department Vagif Aliyev.
The discussions focused on a number of issues including how to increase the efficiency of transit corridor between the two countries, effectiveness of Azerbaijan and Georgia Railways and current and future duties of transport infrastructure.
The event participants adopted some decisions regarding transport issues. They also decided to conduct regular meetings.
