
51,000ha area has been flooded in Azerbaijan, Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasov said, APA’s Mil-Mughan bureau reports. Minister said the floods mainly damaged grain growing.
A lot of poultry, cattle, small cattle were killed as a result of the flooding. Ismat Abbasov said the cattle, small cattle and poultry will be counted and the people will be paid for the damage.
To the question “Can there be shortage, price rise of agricultural products in the country in connection with the floods?” Ismat Abbasov said it is not excluded, but added that the state will take measures to prevent artificial price rise and shortage.
