Heavy rains have caused a serious damage to Azerbaijan’s Agjabadi region.

The groundwater level has significantly increased in the region. Over 750 yards are flooded in the center of the region and the same situation is in other 10 villages. Groundwater level rose up to 70 cm.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said 105 houses are in emergency situation, 4 houses have been destroyed and 30 families have been evacuated. Currently, 20 pumps and 5 fire engines are involved in water pumping.
The water level in the Gargar River rose up to 5 times. Tahtakorpu settlement, which is home to displaced persons from Lachin, face threat of mudslides. Direction of the river bed has been shifted to prevent flooding in the village.
The size of the damage is being determined.
