Kura River floods Azerbaijani region

The river Kura has flooded the Gazakh region that lies west of Azerbaijan.

As a result of heavy rains, some parts of the Kura River, passing through the Gazakh region, overflew its banks, the Ministry for Emergency Situations reported.

As a result of flooding, the surrounding area near the village of Ashaghi Salahli was under water.

The victims were saved with the help of rescuers of Aran diving team (city of Mingechevir) of the State Rescue Service.

Gazakh is located 500 kilometers west of Baku.
