Traffic police in intensified regime due to snow in Azerbaijan

The traffic police are working in an intensified regime due to snow and ice in Azerbaijan.

The police have been working since morning as the roads are covered with ice, Baku City State Traffic Police Department official Camshid Hanifayev said.

According to Hanifayev, icy roads have been strewn with sand.

The department advices drivers to use their cars less given the weather, and to opt for public transport.

Snow fell in Baku on the night of Feb. 4.

According to the forecasts of the National Hydrometeorological  Department, the snowy weather will continue until Feb. 8.
