Russia's switch to digital broadcasting should be synchronized with all CIS states: Russian president

“Russia will switch to digital broadcasting by 2015 and the process should be synchronized with all CIS states”, said Russian president Dmitriy Medvedev in his address to the European and Asian Media Forum in Moscow.

He said preliminary steps were done in this direction.

"There are several territories in Russia with digital broadcasting. I hope we will fully switch to the digital broadcasting in 2015. Huge amount of resources will be allocated by the federal budget and commercial organizations for this goal. This process will cover all CIS area. I believe it would be more expedient for all CIS space to pass to digital broadcasting in sync”.

Russian president said European and Asian media organizations should launch permanent dialogue out of ideology.

Medvedev called the e-diaries are good form of communication between the authorities and public community.

“I consider the blogs are good communication to receive real time information about ongoing developments in the country and world. On the other hand, the blogs enable people to fell like a journalist."

The president said he created his personal video-blog recently and invited all citizens to send their ideas to this blog.

“Many regional authorities of Russia followed me and created their own blogs. I am trying to do this job by own forces because I have some skills in information sphere," the Russian president added.
