Education Minister meets Russian counterpart

Russian minister of science and education Andrey Fursenko had a closed meeting with Azerbaijani minister Misir Mardanov. The ministers held a press conference after the meeting.

Misir Mardanov stated there are no problems in recognition of university diplomas in Azerbaijan and Russia. He added that it is possible to open branches in Russia.

Russian minister stressed it is necessary to attach importance on quality of education as both countries participate in Bologna process. Fursenko proposed to exchange practice between the countries. He noted that teachers of leading Azeri universities may attend courses in Russia and vice-versa.

Minister also commented on branches of Russian universities illegally operating in Azerbaijan. "We decided to consider the issue together. It may be investigated by the law. Leading Russian schools may also have branches in Azerbaijan", he underscored, APA reports.
