Private universities not to admit students in fields of Law, International Law and Medicine

Education Ministry will not allow privately-owned universities to admit students in fields of Law, International Law and Medical Biology from this year.

Education Minister Misir Mardanov told that before making this decision, education ministry, Justice Ministry and Republic Prosecutor's office had conducted investigation of these universities.

It was founded that these privately-owned higher institutions had no material-instrumental base to qualify students in these fields.

In privately-owned universities 3115 students are studying in medical education, 1793 students in law education and 1242 students in international law.

Minister also underscored that Foreign Ministry Diplomatic Academy are being established by this year March 6 presidential decree. So, the name and orientation of Baku Diplomatic University may be changed.

Ministry has also been unauthorized to admit students in 2006-2007 academic year.
The reason is the serious shortcomings in the activity of this university, APA informs.
