The leader of the group, Arif Gadzhiyev, was given a life sentence. Emil Gadzhiverdiyev, a member of the group, was sentenced to ten years in jail, while other members of the group were sentenced to from five to seven years.

They were convicted of committing terrorist attacks, illegal weapons possession, murdering a police officer in Baku and other serious crimes, a lawyer for one of the defendants, Elman Osmanov, told Interfax.
