No Bird flu-infected persons registered in Azerbaijan - UPDATED

"No bird flu-infected people were registered in Azerbaijan", Leila Seyidbayova, the head of the Baku Central Health Department, stated.

As APA informs, the Clinical Hospital of the Republic (CHR) refutes news about death of one person because of Bird flu in this medical establishment.

No Bird flu-infected patients had come to the hospital: "No one asked for help because of Bird flu in our hospital. In general, no Bird flu-infected patients were brought to the hospital over the last several days".

It should be noted that the information spread says that the person died of Bird flu is a resident of Masalli. The head physician of the Masalli region Central hospital Jamil Nazarov told that no one was infected with this virus in the region yet. The doctor also noted that the situation in the region was under strict control.

The director of the department of the Masalli Veterinary Office Dedemir Tehmezov also said that news about death of Bird flu in the region were false.

As Trend informs citing L.Seyidbayanova, the people, addressed to the medical institutions with similar symptoms, had given blood tests, which were sent to laboratories of the World Health Organization in Cairo through the Azerbaijani Health Ministry. "Test results were negative," she said.

Seyidbayova stressed that the Research Institute of Lung Diseases and the Baku Infection Diseases Hospital 7 were allocated for hospitalization of Bird flu-infected people. These medical institutes were provided with all necessary conditions, particularly, reanimation services.

"We can allocate other hospitals in case of wide spreading of the virus," Seyidbayova said. Besides, the Baku Central Health Department gave instructions on thermometry at secondary schools and universities.

Within the struggle with Bird flu the Health Ministry purchased 550 packages of medicines, special suits for doctors, who will communicate with probable Bird flu-infected people. They can buy suits additionally in case of necessity.
