Police have seized over 2.1 kg of drugs from two suspected drug traffickers in Azerbaijan's Gobustan region, Azertag said on May 11.
As a result of a search operation of the Gobustan District Police Department, a large amount of drugs, smuggled into the country, were seized from a Baku resident, Mammadiya Alkhazov, and a Jalilabad resident, Ramal Aliyev, involved in an online drug sale. During the search, over 2 kg of heroin was confiscated from them.
Moreover, the investigation established that the detainees were involved in drug trafficking via social networks with a foreign-based drug dealer, and smuggled drugs into Azerbaijan.
The suspects organized the sale of drugs sent by this person in the country. The police caught them red-handed while trying to sell drugs in Gobustan.
A criminal case has been launched, the investigation is underway. They were detained by a court decision.
