Cold snap and snow expected in Baku

Bakuians have been warned sleet and snow could hit the capital as temperatures plunge this week.

The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has announced that milder temperatures expected at the beginning of the week will plummet on January 31 night as “wintry showers” travel across the country.

Rainy weather is forecast for January 3 in Baku. Gentle north-west wind will blow.

The temperature will be 0-3 degrees of frost at night, +1-3?C in daytime in Absheron peninsula, 1-3 degrees of frost at night, +1-3?C in the daytime in Baku. Air pressure records 771. Relative humidity will be 85-95%.

As for the country’s regions, the weather will be occasionally rainy, while snow will hit the northern regions. In some places, snow will be intensive.

West wind will blow and intensify in some areas. The temperature will be 1-6 degrees of frost at night, +1-5 ?C in daytime, 15-20 degrees of frost in mountains at night, 5-10 degrees of frost in daytime

Overall, until February 1, Khazri wind and cold weather conditions in Absheron peninsula will be unfavorable for weather sensitive people.

The weather will be unstable and the capital may face snow storms. North-west wind will blow. The minimum temperature will be 1-5 degrees of frost. Roads are likely to be icy.

Unstable weather will continue throughout the country until February 2 afternoon. Heavy snow is expected in the regions. West wind will blow and intensify in some places.
