Abnormally hot weather to continue for next several days

Abnormally hot weather dominating in Azerbaijan starting from this weekend make many people cranky and irritable, as the mercury has exceeded 40 degrees.

Forecasters predict that hottest weather in the country will continue for the next two-three days.

Gulshad Mammadova, Director of the hydro meteorological forecasting Bureau of National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry said that the country will experience hot weather in the first decade of August. “Our warning due to weather conditions remain in force,” she said.

Mammadova noted that such weather conditions are typical for August.  "In the next two-three days hot and stable weather conditions are expected. The south wind will dominate," the expert emphasized.

The temperature in Absheron Peninsula on August 9 will stand between 24-27 degrees C at night and 34-39 during the day. In Baku the temperature will be 25-27 at night and 36-38 during the day on Tuesday.

The sea water temperature on the beaches in Sumgayit, Novkhani, Pirshagi, Nardaran, Bilgah, Zagulba will be 24-25 degrees C, whereas in Buzovna, Mardakan, Shuvelan will be  25-26 degrees C. Water in Tyurkan, Hovsan, Sahil, and Shikhov beaches will reach up to 27-28 degrees C.

In Azerbaijani regions the situation is almost the same on August 9. The temperature will be 21-26 degrees at night and 35-40 during the day, while in mountain areas the weather expects to be cooler varying from 15 to 20 at night and 27-32 during the day.
