Friendship and cooperation charter of French Évian-les-Bains and Azerbaijan`s Ismayilli becomes effective

A charter on friendship and cooperation was signed between French Évian-les-Bains and Azerbaijan`s Ismayilli.

A delegation led by head of Ismayilli executive authority Mirdamat Sadiqov visited Évian-les-Bains for the signing the agreement.

Évian-les-Bains city Mayor Marc Francina said the charter would contribute to development of ties in the field of culture.

Mirdamat Sadigov highlighted the reforms carried out in the country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The Governor also spoke of the contributions of Azerbaijan`s first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in maintaining the national cultural heritage.

The charter aims to develop friendly ties between the two towns, as well as to give a push to bilateral bonds in the fields of culture, tourism, and economy.

Under international law, the charter shall become effective when it is signed in both cities.

The charter was inked in Ismayilli when a delegation of Évian-les-Bains visited Ismayilli this May.
