Police can get additional powers in Azerbaijan

The police can get additional powers in combating terrorism in Azerbaijan.

This is envisaged by the supplement to the law "On Police". It will be discussed at the meeting of the committee on legal policy of the Azerbaijani parliament Dec. 2.

According to the amendment, which is offered to be included in Article 26 of the law (using of physical force, special means and firearms), it is planned to use physical force, special means and firearms while preventing the crimes related to terrorism, religious extremism and attempts to change the constitutional system.
