Iranian cities near Azerbaijani border hit by strong quake

A strong earthquake has today morning hit the cities of Parsabad, Bileh Savar and Germi in the Ardabil Province of Iran near the country’s border with Azerbaijan.

Iranian news agency IRNA reported Sept. 4 that the earthquake measured 5 points on the Richter scale in its epicenter. The quake was also felt in the residential areas nearby, measuring 4 points.

Reportedly, the quake caused panic among the locals, and they have left their homes.

No other details on the earthquake and casualties have been so far reported.
