EU allocation to assist Georgia’s women entrepreneurs

The European Commission announced that the European Union adopted a decision to allocate 85 million euros to small and medium-sized enterprises in aspirant countries including Georgia.

The allocation reportedly aims to help the businessmen benefit from the opportunities offered by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area as part the EU-Georgia Association Agreement.

Stimulating female entrepreneurship in the Eastern Partnership region was also shown as one of the directions of the money allotment.

The Georgian authorities hope to achieve a firm stimulation for female entrepreneurship in the country after it receives further financial assistance from the EU.

These specific projects targeting the East Neighborhood were expected to generate more than 1.3 billion of investment.

The European Commission stated on its website that the financial resources will be mobilized from the Neighborhood Investment Facility.
