Archeologists discover ancient objects in Gabala

New patterns of material culture were discovered in the course of archaeological excavations carried out in Gabala, the capital of Caucasian Albania, with the support of the Association of Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange (Seul-Baku-Seba) .

Head of the archaeological research team Jeyhun Emilli said that during the excavations conducted in  Selbir - urban settlement of the ancient period and the early Middle Ages- in April and June this year, there was revealed a rich cultural layer referring to the I-III and VIII-X centuries of our era. Archaeologists have uncovered part of the sewer system, tendir, copper coins, glassware, arrowheads, jewelry made of bone, glass, gold earrings.
 
The archaeological studies of ancient Gabala  is lead by the department head at the ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography , PhD in historical sciences Ilyas Babayev and archaeological team of seven people, headed by chair of Seoul National Institute of Archeology and Art History of the Republic of Korea Lee Sunn Boc.
