Akkord opens road section at Galaba square

A road section connecting F.Hoyski and N.Yusifbeyli streets was commissioned on May 8 within the framework of the project Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC implements at Galaba square located near the Ganjlik subway station.

The road to the length of 800m crosses above tunnels 1, 1a, 2, and 3, and plays an important role for traffic regulation at an area with intensive traffic movement. Project operations are performed at high speed.

It is noteworthy that Akkord Corporation carries out operations on basis of the project which envisages regulation of traffic, prevention of traffic jams and movement without stop lights at Galaba square and streets crossing with it. The mentioned operations are performed within the framework of projects of the Ministry of Transportation of Azerbaijan for traffic regulation and improvement of road infrastructure in Baku city.

The project envisages construction of 6 tunnels, 10 pedestrian crossings and enlargement of adjacent roads at the area. According to the project, two more exits are planned to be built at Ganjlik subway station.

First of all, the entry into the Ganjlik subway from the direction of the Ataturk Avenue was moved toward the center of the Galaba square.
According to the plan, Akkord completed operations on change of many communication pipes that are available at the area and construction of tunnels 1, 1a, 2 and 3. Construction of tunnels 3a and 6 is coming next. The first stage of the planned operations has already been completed. Works on construction of tunnels are underway. Akkord Corporation has engaged a group of specialists, about 300 workers and 40 units of special equipment for performance of operations at the site.
