23 November 2011 [19:02] - TODAY.AZ
President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili awarded persons of different occupations with the Presidential Splendor Order. The award ceremony was timed to the eighth anniversary of the Rose Revolution and the Giorgoba Holiday.

Saakashvili mentioned the successes of Georgian diplomacy and passed over awards to the group that had held talks with Russia over the latter's joining the World Trade Organization: Deputy Foreign Ministers Sergo Kapanadze and Tornike Gordadze, Adviser to Prime Minister Tamara Kovziridze, and Georgia's Envoy to the EU Salome Samadashvili.

Saakashvili thinks Georgia's talks are a success as Moscow recognized Georgia's international borders and, besides, Georgia has received the right to check cargoes at the Abkhazian and South Ossetian sections of the Georgian-Russian border.

In addition, the President awarded Bakur Kvezereli, the former agriculture minister, and Nino Katamadze, a singer, for contribution to the country's development.
