Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party increases seats number to 54

The number of seats of Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) at Turkish Parliament increased to 54, Anadolu Agency reported.

MHP Deputy Chairman Faruk Bal told A.A on Tuesday that his party objected the number of votes it won in Istanbul province during the general elections, and their number of seats increased one to 54 as the objection was accepted.

Bal said that MHP's third candidate in Istanbul's 1st district Hayrettin Nuhoglu also entered Parliament following their objection.

Engin Alan and Durmusali Torlak, also in the 1st district of Istanbul, are the other candidates who entered Parliament from MHP.

In the general elections on June 12, Justice and Development (AK) 326 seats at the 550-seat Parliament as CHP got 135 seats and the MHP 54 seats. Independents had 36 seats.
