Armenia-EU talks on facilitation of visa regime due in September

Armenia-EU talks on facilitation of visa requirements will start this September.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said no obstacles are expected during the talks.

"Visa requirements will be relaxed for 16 categories, including journalists, sportsmen, researchers and others. The next stage is liberalization of visa regime," Nalbandian said at a press conference with his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt.

Last year Europe offered the South Caucasian states partnership within EU Eastern Partnership project initiated by Poland and Sweden.

The Eastern Partnership project is aimed to improve political and economic relations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus with the European Union.
