Iranian Parliament elects new speaker

The Iranian Parliament has elected a speaker and presidium members. Ali Larijani was reelected the parliamentary speaker, IRNA reported.

Larijani gained 212 votes of the possible 244 and reelected the parliamentary speaker for 4th year.

Based on the Iranian parliament’s internal charter, MPs annually elect a speaker and presidium members.

Iran will hold the next parliamentary elections on March 12, 2012.
