Armenia withdraws its candidacy for non-permanent UNSC member

Armenia has withdrawn its candidature for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2012-2013, the UN reported. Elections will be held in October 2011.

Given that Azerbaijan will participate in these elections, Armenia 's decision, of course, is regarded as an admission of defeat.
