Turkish PM Erdogan slams pro-Kurdish opposition party

Turkey's prime minister accused the country's leading pro-Kurdish party of serving as "spokesman" for the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Today's Zaman reported.

PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) on Thursday, following demands from the party to move imprisoned terrorist chief Abdullah Öcalan from a prison island into a house arrest and end prosecution of dozens of Kurdish mayors on charges of separatism. The government has refused.

Erdoğan says the terrorist group and its affiliates are tyring to provoke the people in the country's Kurdish-dominated southeast ahead of elections in June.
