21 January 2011 [11:45] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that visa agreement between Turkey and Russia would be signed in coming months.
The agreement will be signed during the High-level Cooperation Council meeting which will be held in Moscow in coming months, added Davutoglu who held a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Istanbul on Thursday.

The two ministers held the press conference after the first meeting of Turkey-Russia Joint Strategic Planning Group at Ciragan Palace. Stressing that they reached the final phase of a very important step between Turkey and Russia, Davutoglu reminded that prime ministers and presidents of the two countries had previously agreed to lift visa mutually.

Also, Readmission Agreement was signed within that scope, and hopefully all legal processes will be completed, and visa agreement between Turkey and Russia will be signed in coming months, added Davutoglu.

The Readmission Agreement between Turkey and Russia was signed in Moscow on Tuesday.

Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that the Readmission Agreement would come into force simultaneously with Visa Exemption Agreement between the two countries.

Turkey and Russia had signed Visa Exemption Agreement in May, 2010.

Readmission agreement brings the liability to parties (which signed the agreement) to readmit the persons who enter the other country illegally.
