An entrepreneur from Turkey's eastern province of Van has founded a new air carrier company, which would go by the name "Van Way Airlines", Public radio of Armenia reported.
The air carrier company, set up by Van-based businessman Aslan Bayram, is set to make maiden flight on January 15 on destinations to three other Turkish provinces that included Gaziantep, Trabzon and Ankara, the Turkish capital, Bayram told reporters.
"At first, the idea to start an air carrier company seemed as a very risky business but the support I have received made me change my mind," Bayram said.
The company has designated Borajet and Anadolujet - two low cost carriers in Turkey - as solution partners, Bayram said, adding that the company planned to increase the number of its destinations in the future including Iran's Tehran, Urmia and Tabriz, Iraq's Sulaimaniyah and Irbil as well as Yerevan, Armenia.
