Astana will host summit of Turkic-speaking countries in 2011

Astana will host the Summit of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Cooperation Council in October 2011. The meeting will be held at the level of foreign ministers, Council Head Halil Akinci told journalists on Friday.

The summit will discuss the establishment of the Customs Union of Turkic-speaking countries and cancellation of the visa regime among all the Turkic-speaking countries, he said.

Akinci arrived in Baku on Thursday from Kazakhstan. On Friday, Akinci held a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the TurkPA head and head of the Azerbaijani Entrepreneurs Confederation.
