Armenian Defense Minister sacks 8 officers over army killings

Armenia's Defense Ministry convened on August 6 a special board meeting to address the recent tragic events in different military units of Armenia's armed forces that left 7 seven people dead.

Presiding the session Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said that though all the military staff is doing its duty obligations securing Armenia's reliable safety, there are still some military officers who intend to use violation, who have vicious habits and whose unconscientiousness causes tragic events.

Saying that those incidents attest to the fact that much must be done in the army to prevent such incidents Mr Ohanyan ordered the military command staff to thoroughly analyze what happened and take relevant steps to further avoid such incidents. While closing the session Mr Ohanyan harshly criticized 8 military officers responsible for those incidents and sacked them.
