Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki said on Friday that the relations between Turkey and Iran were developing each day. Holding a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul, Motaki said that Turkey and Iran were two main actors in regional issues, adding that the two countries were also in cooperation in Afghanistan issue.
Motaki said that Turkey was an important member of UN as well as a good neighbor of Iran. He noted that the constructive meetings between Turkey and Iran would continue as a political cooperation.
Replying a question about the elections in Iraq, Motaki said that the elections were held in a democratic atmosphere, adding that Iran had always supported territorial integrity of Iraq. Motaki expressed hope that a democratic government would be set up in Iraq.
Motaki said that Iran would be pleased to see a stable Iraq which was an important country in the region. Regarding his talks in New York, Motaki said that they gathered 15 members of UN in New York, and held very fruitful meetings.
