Former Ronald Reagan adviser: Armenian Diaspora is fearful its lies will be exposed

27 April 2010 [18:15] - TODAY.AZ
Bruce Fein, former adviser to U.S. President Ronald Reagan, lawyer, outspoken critic of Armenians’ unfounded claims, says that Armenian diaspora, fearing its lies will be exposed, avoids studying their archives and appealing to the International Court of Justice.

"Taking advantage of the First World War, in order to create an independent nation, Armenians rebelled and began to cooperate with the enemy forces betraying the Ottoman Empire. As any other state, the Ottoman Empire took action against the rebellion,” Fein said.

"It is believed that during the First World War, loss of the Muslim Turks in Eastern Anatolia was about 2 million people, and the loss of Armenians - from 300 thousand to 600 thousand people. However, Armenians have periodically increased the number of their victims," Fein added.

"What happened in past was a shared tragedy. Armenians have always defended their claims in political platforms. However, politicians do not know the history,” Fein noted.

"If Armenians are confident of their arguments, why do not they appeal to the International Court? They do not appeal to the International Court of Justice because the process would require examining the archives, and the results of this study demonstrate that the Armenians betrayed the Ottoman Empire in order to gain independence, killed Muslim Turks and committing terrorist acts.”

"Giving assessment of the history or crimes and condemning the history contradicts constitution of countries whose politicians come out with similar initiatives," Fein underscored criticising debates about the Armenian allegations in parliaments,
