Iran, Germany to expand cultural cooperation

Emphasis was made here Wednesday on need for expansion of cultural cooperation in a meeting between Iran’s CHHTO head and deputies and Vimar city officials.
During the Wednesday meeting between the Vice President and Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (CHHTO) Hamid Baqa’ie and his accompanying delegation, comprised of his deputies and the German historic city’s officials, Baqa’ie referred to the historic and cultural records of Iran, arguing, “Iran with its glorious history and the great personalities it has presented to the world culture is a highly cultural country of peace and friendship.”

Pointing out that a nation that has had personalities like Hafez and Avicenna and has the record of presenting to the mankind the world’s first ever Charter of Freedoms (by Cyrus the Great), would never be after oppressing, harming or exerting hegemony against other nations.
He added, “Germany, too, is among the cultural countries of the world and there are lots of commonalties between the two nations’ cultures, which can serve at the service of boosting and expanding bilateral relations.”

Baqa’ie referred to the high cost that the Germans have paid throughout their history, saying, “The Iranian nation, too, has very often been oppressed and the current wave of propagation against our nation is proof for another case of oppression against the Iranians.”

Referring to both the Iranian and the German nations as great peoples, he said, “The Germans have a good historic background in Iran and keeping in mind the sisterhood covenant vowed between Shiraz and Vimar these relations must further expand and the two countries’ officials’ visits must be increased.”

Baqa’ie referred to the Iranian experts’ capabilities in repairing historic artifacts, manuscripts and paintings, arguing, “Iran is ready for expansion of relations in historical and cultural fields with Germany.”

The vice president asked for facilitation of cultural communications between the nations, adding, “The officials and statesmen must assist us in this respect, since the nations need to communicate with one another.”

The CHHTO head referring to the cultural personalities as soldiers in the field of the nations’ cultural activities, reiterated, “Blocking the path of the nation’s access to knowledge and sciences is of no use, because no one is capable of denying a nation’s right in this respect.”
He emphasized that the Iranians are ready for deepening cultural relations with Germany and that Shiraz is willing to expand relations with Vimar, adding, “Hafez belongs to the entire mankind and the human beings have a shared intellect and inner self, while it is merely nationalities that differentiate among nations.”

The Head of the Country’s Free and Special Zones in the meeting in the presence of a number of economic officials of the two countries, also referred to Iran’s success I scientific fields, arguing, “Opposition of certain countries other nations’ access to certain scientific fields is useless as the sciences, like freedom, are among the basic rights of the entire mankind.”
He meanwhile announced the Iranian Free Zones’ readiness for attraction of foreign capitals, reiterating, “At our Free Trade and Industrial Zones the most advanced scientific achievements of the world can be observed.”

The Chief Mayor of Vimar, too, referring to the close relations between Vimar and Shiraz emphasized that Vimar City is ready for deepening relations with Shiraz and is meanwhile ready for establishment of cultural relations with other Iranian cities.”

Stephen Wolf said that Iran is a cultural city with an ancient history, adding, “I was deeply impressed by the Iranian culture during my visit of Iran, which totally changed my mentality about your country.”

He emphasized, “Vimar city officials try to reflect the realities about Iran despite the general assumptions and propagation for Vimar residents.”

The Chief Mayor of Vimar said that the city residents are eagerly longing for the presence of the Iranian, and particularly Shirazi cultural delegation in their city, adding, “Vimar is now getting ready for Nouruz celebrations, while the 12th of October is for the first time named as the Hafez Day in this city and we would hold a special celebration also on that occasion this year in Vimar.”

Vimar City mayor Claus Gallas, too, during the meeting emphasized that the cultural bridge between Iran and Germany needs to be strengthened since it would lead to strengthening of the two nations’ relations.
