Turkish FM meets president of Egypt

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is in Egypt on a formal visit, met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Sharm el Sheikh on Tuesday.
Davutoglu and Mubarak discussed a wide range of issues from Iraq to talks between Palestinian groups, diplomats said.

Davutoglu told Mubarak that Turkey appreciated Egyptian efforts regarding Palestine and that Turkey was ready to help, diplomats said.

On his part, Mubarak welcomed Turkish investments in his country and said the two countries should improve maritime transportation.

Davutoglu and Mubarak also talked about Middle East peace process and ways to circumvent the deadlock.

Davutoglu and his delegation will proceed to Cairo later in the day to meet with Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Mohamed Nazif and Foreign Minister Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit.
