Temur Iakobashvili, State Minister for Reintegration Issues, left for Strasbourg where he will present the state strategy of Georgia regarding the occupied territories to the Council of Europe.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Yakobashvili will present the recently adopted "State Strategy of the Government of Georgia on the Occupied Territories of Georgia: Engagement though Co-operation" to the decision-making body of the Organization at the 1076th meeting of Ministers' Deputies Feb. 3.
The exchange of views on this important document will take place subsequent to the introductory speech delivered by Yakobashvili.
Minister Yakobashvili, who is accompanied by David Rakviashvili, Deputy Minister for Reintegration Issues and Mr Sergi Kapanadze, Director of International Organisations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, will hold a meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
At the meeting, the issues concerning the involvement of the Council of Europe in the alleviation of the consequences of the 2008 Russian aggression and ongoing occupation of the Georgian territories, including the modalities of the established CoE reporting system will be conferred.
