NATO spokesman reiterates support to Georgia's unity

The conference was dedicated to the topical issues in the NATO-Russia relations.

Appathurai answered the questions of the journalists and said that the decision of the Alliance member states about Georgia's integration into the NATO was in force.

"The position of the NATO allies regarding Georgia has not been changed and the decision taken by the alliance member states is still in force. It means that Georgia will become the member of the alliance when it meets all required standards. Here I want to emphasize that NATO supports Georgia's territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders and it will never recognize independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia," Appathurai said.
