Turkish, Bosnian, Croatian FMs start consultation meeting

14 January 2010 [18:19] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish, Bosnian and Croatian foreign ministers gathered in Zagreb for a consultation meeting Thursday in capital Zagreb.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was set to discuss with his counterparts latest developments in the Balkans as well as seek ways to promote Bosnia-Herzegovina's relations with the international community.

Turkish foreign minister and his Croatian counterpart Gordan Jandrokovic agreed during Davutoglu's visit to Zagreb last December to set up a tri-lateral platform for consultations between the two countries plus Bosnia-Herzegovina.

A similar platform also serves for regular contacts between Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.

Turkey considers such consultation mechanisms as confidence building measures in a bid to maintain lasting peace and stability in the Balkans.
